Darryl Odom M.P.A. (Board Chairperson)

Mr. Odom serves the Central Care Community Health Center as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.  During his tenure on the Board of Directors for Central Care Community Health Center, Mr. Odom has served in several capacities including Treasurer and Member-at-Large for the last five years.  Mr. Odom brings to the Central Care Community Health Center’s Board of Directors a wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise in organizational management. Mr. Odom is a member in good standing with the National Association of Community Health Centers and has been Certified by the National Association of Community Health Centers in Federally Qualified Community Health Center Board of Directors Policy and Governance.

Mr. Odom retired from the City of Houston’s Health and Human Services Division after serving as the Administrator of the Sunnyside Multi-Service Center.  While serving in this capacity, he provided the Sunnyside Community with many opportunities for enrichment such as developing a young men’s leadership program and initiating a pilot program for men’s health for the City of Houston Health Department.

Deborah Archie (Vice Chairperson)

Deborah Archie is a native Houstonian and is currently the Sr. Vice President of Unity National Bank with concentration in Operations/Accounting. She received her BBA in accounting from Texas Southern University and is also a graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management Program I.

Deborah is involved in community activities such as “Bank in School” programs, Urban League “Money and Banking” Program, “Families Helping Families Food Drive”, Community Health Fairs and many more. She currently serves as the Vice Chairman of Central Care Community Health Center and is a member of Sisters Network, Inc.  Deborah served 5yrs on the board of Hope For Families and was Chairman for Houston Community Center for Performing and Visual Arts. She is a member of the Trustee Board of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she is involved in several ministries. She lives by a personal mission, “If I can help somebody, then my living is not in vain”.

Karyn J. Smith (Secretary)

Karyn J. Smith is a native Houstonian. Karyn graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Karyn has been employed by the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council for the last 16 years. She is currently a team leader in the membership department.

Karyn has served on the National board for the Association of Girl Scout Executive staff for 6years. She has also served on the National nominating committee for the same organization for 3 years. Karyn is also a member of the NAACP.

Marvin C. Delaney (Treasurer)

Marvin C. Delaney is the second son born to Rogers Delaney and Marion Thompson Delaney. He was born October 12, 1947 in Le Compte, Louisiana. The family moved to Galveston, Texas in the 40’s, then to La Marque, Texas where Marvin attended public schools. He graduated from La Marque High in 1966.

Employment with Shell Oil Co. began in October 1968. At Shell he met Georgia Gary and they wed. Three children were born to that union—Christopher 30, Demetra 28, and Michara 25.

Marvin accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at 17 years of age at Compton Memorial Church of God in Christ in Galveston, Texas. He joined South Park Baptist Church in April of 1976 and was baptized in May of 1976. His practical religious education began under the tutelage of Rev. George May where for 17 years he engaged in visitation, witnessing, and in-depth studying. He was licensed in the ministry in 1989. Reverend Marvin C. Delaney is a member in good standing with the National Association of Community Health Centers and has been Certified by the National Association of Community Health Centers in Federally Qualified Community Health Center Board of Directors Policy and Governance. Reverend Marvin C. Delaney is the Pastor of South Park Baptist Church Located in Houston Texas.

Willie Nelson (Member)

Born in Houston, Texas, graduate of Kashmere HS. Vietnam War Vet., S/Sgt USAF, served at 86th Tactical Hospital at Ramstein AB, Germany. Earned a degree from the University of Maryland-Stuttgart. Received a degree in Nursing from Alvin College and a Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist certification from Baylor University. Was Supervisor of Nursing for the Cardiovascular and General Surgical Units and the Intensive Care Units at St Luke’s Episcopal Hospital Also traveled extensively throughout US, Europe and South East Asia transporting Heart Transplant patients. Retired after 30 years of service. Began Texas Children’s Hospital as Administrative Coordinator of Nursing with focus on the specialty units, ER, PICU, Neonatology and the Infant care areas. Retired after 8 years. Presently work for Harris County Protective Services for Children and Adults as the Director of the Medical/Dental clinics. Former Chair of Houston Area Immunization Coalition (aka: Immunization Coalition of Greater Houston). Member: Texas Children’s Hospital HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Steering Committee.

Detria Ward (Member)

Detria Ward is a native Houstonian.  She graduated from Texas Southern University with a BFA in Theatre.  She spent 15 years in Radio at KTSU 90.9 FM.  She left KTSU by the request of Mathew Knowles to serve as General Manager of Music World Entertainment the management company for Destiny’s Child, Beyonce’ ,Kelly Rowland and others.  Detria is currently at Texas Southern University as Program Coordinator in the College of Continuing Education and works on various special projects and events.

Frank Mims (Member)

Frank Mims V a former Private Country Club Clubhouse Manager for the last 20+ years he has earned his living as a career sales professional with the Xerox Corp. Wiltel/Worldcom and the Canadian based Mitel Networks Inc. an international voice and data Communication Company. He has sold in both the domestic U.S. and international markets worldwide with his focus on large enterprise corporation account penetration. Today Mims is CEO/President of The Mims Morning Meeting a SALES SKILLS ENHANCEMENT COMPANY designing training technique for meetings to stimulate sales and productivity for sales and marketing organizations. He is also a guest lecturer at colleges and universities. Mims is a master storyteller and the author of the soon to be publish book “THE BEST WAY TO GET ON YOU FEET IS TO GET OFF YOUR ASS!!”. Frank Mims V is contributing author to the book ‘The Magic of Sales & Marketing REVEALED’ by Rory Sheehan. James N.E. Williams (Member)

James NE Williams, a native of Longview, Texas. He retired as Church Business Administrator of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in 2004 after more than 20 years.Williams graduated from Prairie View A & M University with a B. S. degree in 1951. He also graduated from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work with a M. S. W. degree in 1975. He also attended Tulane University School of Social Work in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1974.
